Wood fireplaces

Wood is back! New Montreal By-Law

Per the new by-law adopted on August 18 2015, wood fireplaces, stoves and inserts can be legally installed and operated, under specific requirements. The main one is that all units must be recognized by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and emit no more than 2.5 g/hr of fine particles into the atmosphere.

A Wood Fireplace is commonly known as a zero-clearance pre-fabricated wood burning unit that must be connected to a certified chimney. It is the perfect solution for a home where there is no existing certified wood chimney or fireplace. This type of fireplace can be installed in virtually any application and can be closed in with standard building materials such as drywall.

At Alternatives, we believe in selling only the finest high efficiency wood fireplace’s that will provide optimum burn resulting in virtually no smoke and little ash production. All fireplaces that we sell either meet or exceed all EPA requirements.

Please note that models vary in size, color and shape. Come visit our showroom for a complete selection and professional guidance.
